Kennel TrePés Gild

- mini-kennel for mini schnauzer

TrePés is the name of my company that will develop into a small kennel in my home. The Kennelname is "TrePés Gild".

Today I have my tough Gimli, a pepper and salt male of the adorable and spirited breed miniature schnauzer.

The 2 big happenings 2012 was that Trixa came here from Argentina and Prima had her first litter! Prima arrived in July 2011 - she practically stormed into our lives! Trixa mabe a more careful entry in our home in February 2012. They are both very nice girls with strong personalities.

My goal as a breeder

I started to think about what I want to avoid. I do not want to contribute to impair the race when speaking about health.

And I do not want to contribute to unhealthy "trends" or "tastes" that deviates from the standard. And thus, I had developed a framework, within which I wanted to stay.

It felt best to describe this with an image. The framework consists of good health (HALSA) is a prerequisite for breeding at all.

Within the health context, the Miniature Schnauzer breed standard which I intend to fulfil - but I get rather healthy dogs than perfect according to breed standard, if I have to prioritize.

The next two important areas that I want to meet and improve is a GOOD MENTALITY and a GOOD EXTERIOR. I like social and friendly dogs that work in a family, and I prefer the elegant strong type of Schnauzer - like my Gimli!

The CROWN symbolizes where TrePés aim to be!

Målsättning TREPÉs

1. HEALTHY DOGS

2. FULFILLING MIN.SCHN. STANDARD

3. POSITIVE & PLEASANT DOGS without FEARS. The miniature schnauzer is supposed to be brave and is allowed to have some sharpness, but they muct work with a family and be pleasant family members!

4. The EXTERIOR shall be typical of a Miniature Schnauzer without any differences between the colours. Sturdiness combined with elegance.

Gimli, Prima & Trixa

Gimli was born in Seglora a cold November night in 2007 under the loving watch of Asa and John who runs Stommelyckans Kennel. They focus on developing social and pleasant future champions in their home. My warmest recommendations, I would give Åsa and Johan, who are responsible and caring kennel owners, who are always there with their expertise when I or Gimli need help and advice.

The name Gimli came as a revelation when the Lord of the Rings was on TV while I was thinking of a suitable name for my first miniature schnauzer puppy. Those of you who have read the book or seen the movie, know that Gimli is the little man from the dwarf people with fiery temper, a big beard, but a faithful and good heart - pretty much like a miniature schnauzer, actually.

Little Prima. Her kennel name, First Impression, or like it would be in Spanish: Primera Impresión. I found that Prima! was a perfect name for the cute little bitch, that was almost 10 months old when we met her first time in Paris on the 5:th of July 2011.

Last, but not least yet smallest: Trixa. She simply got her name because it was a bit cumbersome with the logistics of getting her home (Trixa in Swedish meaning Tricky). But maybe also because it's a tough name for a very cheeky little girl.

Thank you for visiting my pages!
